I am an ethnic Hungarian who grew up in Romania, where I earned a nursing degree. I worked for seven years in a hospital cardiac unit in Cluj, Romania, and continued working in the same field in the US. I also have a Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Liberty University, where I learned to respect everyone's worldview. I am now a mental health counselor (LPC-A) and the PDI fellow at HI.
I specialize in treating the wounds of grief, trauma, life transitions, abuse, and the impact of medical emergencies on patients and family members. Medical professionals, first responders, caregivers, and family members of those with chronic illnesses often carry the trauma bound to their profession or life circumstances.
My father was a paraplegic and died when I was 16, opening my eyes to the impact of chronic illness and loss on the family system. I am passionate about helping people struggling to pick up the shattered pieces of themselves in the aftermath of trauma or loss. I believe in the healing power of human connections; I use it as a critical component in therapy. I think it is a privilege to watch people become empowered when they feel seen, heard, appreciated, and accepted for who they are.
