SYDNEY WEDIN

You have a heart for helping others. This beautiful gift can at times come with a toll: burnout, compassion fatigue, trauma, stress, substance use issues, or family struggles. You might feel ridden with anxiety, or feel at your lowest of lows. You might find yourself wanting to begin a healing journey, so that you can keep doing what you love to do. You might have a desire to find a healthy balance among all of the different pieces of your world: work, relationships, physical health, and more. You're looking for a safe place to help process past experiences, embrace the present, and prepare for future success.

I have a passion for helping first responders, other helping professionals, and family members of these helping professionals. I am also well equipped to serve those struggling with other issues, such as anxiety and stress. I utilize approaches such as CBT and mindfulness, with a trauma-informed lens, to help you develop skills to live life fully.

You matter, you are valued, and your story is worth hearing! I consider it an honor to be present with you in your journey. If you reach me, I will connect with you within one business day to schedule a phone consultation at your convenience. Therapy can be an intimidating process, and I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) passionate about providing support and guidance for individuals as they navigate life's journey. I graduated from Lancaster Bible College in August 2023 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In addition to my role as an LPC-A, I work as the Administrative Assistant for Susan Tankersley Family Therapy and Heritage Institute.

I utilize a combination of approaches, centered on a client’s needs, to help those experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal conflict, communication breakdown, grief/loss, life transitions, adolescent challenges, women’s issues, etc.

I believe in actively listening to help clients process what they’re experiencing, showing empathy to validate their experience, and empowering them with the tools and resources to find restoration, hope, and the ability to thrive. I count it a privilege to be entrusted with a client’s story, and look forward to be able to help the clients that come through my doors.

I earned my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and currently have the honor of continuing to learn and work as a Bridge Therapist at Heritage Institute.

Taking the step to seek counseling is a significant decision to invest in yourself...but one that can be overwhelming for many reasons! Finding the right counselor to help you navigate life's twists and turns is important.

I am passionate about helping clients discover their full potential. I believe that each person is unique, and I value each and every client who entrusts me with their story. My therapeutic practice is centered on creating a collaborative and empowering space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and aspirations.

I currently have a wide variety of clients from all different seasons of life from ages 12 and up. I bring a diverse range of therapeutic techniques and practices to our sessions and continue to invest in my growth and learning to better serve my clients. My process is generally informed by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and narrative therapy. Each session, however, is tailored to your specific needs and the goal at hand. I work primarily with those navigating depression, self-esteem, overwhelm, pre-marital preparation (SYMBIS), anxiety, life stressors, and relational trauma.

My hope is that you leave each session feeling more equipped to navigate life's hurdles with a renewed sense of self. I would love to hear from you!
